You are not being dramatic
Some of these will land before you have finished reading them.
Not a checklist. Just the ordinary version of what it costs to live as two people at once.
You are warm, direct, and fully yourself everywhere. Except at home, where you go quiet.
You have done the therapy. You understand where it comes from. And yet the moment something happens, you are right back where you started.
The truest version of you lives somewhere your family has never met.
You have started to change, and then got scared, and went back. More than once.
You are ready for the people closest to you to finally know who you actually are. And terrified of what happens if they do.
You are tired of managing two versions of yourself. The cost of keeping them separate is getting too high.
You are not stuck because you are weak. You are stuck because your body learned that being yourself was not safe. That is a very logical place to be.
Why therapy alone has not been enough
You already understand your family. Your body has not caught up.
Therapy helped you understand it. You can explain exactly where it comes from and why you do it. And then something happens. A visit, a phone call, a comment. And you are right back in the old pattern before you even noticed the shift.
That is not a failure of understanding. That is your nervous system doing what it was trained to do. We work where the pattern actually lives, in the body, in the moment before you speak.
A small experiment
Where do you feel it when you are about to disappoint someone?
Choose the place that answers fastest. There is no wrong one. Nothing is collected or stored.
Throat · the swallowed sentence
The words assemble and then dissolve on the way out.
If your throat closes, it is because somewhere along the way disagreeing cost you something. You are not bad with words, you learned to be careful with them. The muscles that hold back speech are the same ones we can teach to release, slowly, with something small first.
In session: we practice saying a true, ordinary sentence out loud until your body stops flinching at it.
Sixty seconds, right now
Before you decide anything about me, let your body decide something.
This is the longer exhale, the one that tells your body the room is not an emergency. It is also, roughly, what the first ten minutes of a session feel like.
Feet on the floor. Jaw unclenched. Follow the circle for four rounds and notice what changes, even slightly.
If that felt like something, here is the workFour rounds, about one minute

Who is holding the room
I spent thirty years being excellent at being needed.
I was the daughter who translated at doctors' appointments, kept the peace at dinner, chose the degree that would make sense to relatives, and could read a room before I could read a sentence. From the outside it looked like maturity. Inside, it was vigilance.
What finally moved it was not another realisation. It was learning that my body was allowed to take up space in a room, and that honoring my roots and belonging to myself were never actually opposites.
That is the work I do now, with women who are done performing and not quite sure what is underneath. I will not ask you to cut anyone off, and I will not ask you to shrink to keep the peace. There is a third option, and it is slower and more honest than both.
Training & Credentials
In their words
I came in wanting to stop feeling guilty. I left able to feel it and still choose myself. That turned out to be the thing I actually needed.
Client, 34 · London
The first person I did not have to explain my family to. She understood the whole shape of it before I finished the sentence.
Client, 41 · Toronto
My shoulders came down for the first time in years. I did not know they had been up.

You are ready to stop living in two halves.
Let’s do 15 minutes on video. Tell me what’s going on, I’ll actually listen instead of running through questions, and by the end we’ll both know if this is a fit. If it’s not, I’ll tell you straight and point you somewhere better.
